Referral Rock is a leading referral software platform known for its user-friendly features and intuitive interface.
To be honest, Referral Rock was already active in link-building efforts before partnering with us. What motivated them to outsource was the desire to scale their backlink acquisition beyond what they could achieve internally, while freeing up time to focus on broader business priorities. After outsourcing their link building, Referral Rock gained approximately 20,000 additional visitors, according to Ahrefs, across the pages they had targeted for ranking. This traffic wasn’t limited to sales pages; a significant portion also went to educational and informational content, which plays a key role in nurturing potential customers and guiding them toward future conversions. By promoting all types of content across their site, Referral Rock has grown into one of the leading referral software platforms globally.
For a referral software company, climbing Google’s search results for keywords like “best referral tools,” “how to create a referral program,” or “referral program examples” can directly drive qualified leads and revenue. These search terms reflect purchase intent—users aren’t casually browsing; they’re actively looking for a solution. The higher a referral platform ranks, the more organic exposure it receives without spending on ads. Blog posts ranking for queries like“referral program examples” educate users before pitching the product. Ranked posts of Referral Rock help us to be with the potential users at all stages before the purchasing decision. Every player in this space is actively engaged in link building. Referral Rock clearly understands the importance of long-term investment in this area to stay competitive. As experts in the referral niche, Referral Rock never requested backlinks solely aimed at generating immediate referrals. They understood that backlinks serve a greater purpose, improving search rankings, which in turn drive qualified leads and long-term growth.
As shown in the image above, Google’s new feature highlights content from Referral Rock’s blog and provides a brief explanation of the topic. This indicates that Google considers the content trustworthy, boosting both the platform’s credibility and user trust.
As you can see in the image above, when searching for tools to manage referral programs, Google often highlights the most frequently mentioned companies, especially in its AI Overviews. This allows users to quickly discover trusted options without wasting time. Thanks to the natural and contextual backlinks earned through our approach, Referral Rock now appears alongside its top competitors in these AI-generated answers, an important boost for brand awareness and credibility.
We also target topics closely aligned with our client’s audience and niche. For example, we focused on keywords related to affiliate programs, helping attract users who are potentially interested in referral opportunities, bringing both relevance and conversion potential.

We’re proud to share that we were invited to insert a backlink to Referral Rock on Envato’s blog, using a relevant anchor text. While the anchor wasn’t a direct match for the target URL (it was this one- referralrock.com/blog/customer-referrals/), it was naturally integrated into the content, making it one of the most valuable contextual backlinks Referral Rock has received. This highlights another important aspect of backlink building for SaaS companies, especially since our client is also in the SaaS space.
Referral Rock’s target keywords are highly competitive, but we focused on boosting brand awareness through strategic listicle insertions and backlinks to their educational content. As shown in the image above, most main keywords fall under the ‘hard’ or ‘super hard’ difficulty range. While some keyword positions may fluctuate, the overall trend shows a clear strategic upward movement, indicating that Referral Rock is steadily climbing toward peak rankings.
Before the campaign, Referralrock ranked behind competitors like for most commercial keywords. After 6 months, Referalrock dominates "referral software"
